"There is a clear process for collecting 500 signatures in a two week period by campaigns of candidates for statewide offices and congressional offices. Volunteers who support the candidate and know the constituents who believe in the candidate will make the collection of signatures rather simple. Please do not blame the “process “ for the failure of the Matos campaign to obtain signatures without controversy. The need for the attorney general and state police to investigate this situation is a stain on the Matos campaign. How can a candidate who is unable to collect 500 signatures without controversy be expected to represent us in Washington on the complicated issues facing our country?"
