It seems to me arguing about tactics wastes time and energy. Laugh all you want at people who show up at demonstrations for the first time and post on social media. But if it energizes them and encourages others to join the fight, it’s a real contribution. Leaving voice mails might seem fruitless but who’s to say they’ll always be deleted. If 10% of Rhode Islanders left a voice message to Magaziner expressing outrage at his support of ICE, he probably would take note.

I like Rebecca Solnit’s take: We’re all in the dark. We don’t know what action will work and what won’t. The important thing is to act again and again and again.

"This is not written to be more radical than thou, or to be unnecessarily divisive." Yet, it was.

Pompous, banal and insulting, too.

Our great turnouts, creative, funny, and angry signs, loud, passionate voices are a powerful, precise weapon aimed at the shriveled hearts of the fascist regime. They are incensed by our posts. And phone calls. Diminishing this activism is wrong.

Rich, on a day when a 20 year Democratic lawmaker has been shot dead by a pawn of the fascist movement that has swept the country, taking the entire Republican party and the legacy media with it, to hear more criticism of the largest and strongest human rights organization in the country. Democrats were voted out of power, in large part due to voter ignorance of the ‘both parties are the same’ sort, (though of course there was lots of the FOX news sort.) If you weren’t there working like mad for Biden/ Harris, if you think you can dismiss their accomplishment….. We have 18 months to elect more Democrats….its the one thing most likely to save us. We don’t need to perfect our allies, we need to respect them and add to their power. The dream in Blue states of some kind of fairtytale party that will make all our wishes come true when the Supreme Court majority has been captured by billionaire fascists, is just silliness…..start with the 48 and some percent who got out there and voted for Harris, and add to that.
