Is RIPTA’s budget available for public access? Has the RIPTA administration ever studied/cities of similar size that have robust ( or at least more efficient than here) public transit systems? Is there a citizen’s advisory board?
Sally, the budget is on the web site. Most comparisons with similar systems show RIPTA does relatively well, though I wish they did more marketing and not allowed the Kennedy Plaza hub to become shabby.
While there is a Accessible Transportation Advisory Committee to advise on issues pertaining to disabilities, there is no overall citizens advisory committee. However there is often lively public comment at their monthly Board meetings in front of staff and Board members, and now the staff is supposed to respond in writing to what the public says. I encourage you to attend one of these meetings - check the web-site, usually a Wed afternoon at 1:30pm

McKee should fire Alviti and then put in a DOT head committed to transit and put what RIPTA needs in the budget
