this is the seven blind men and the elephant. No one, from the president on down has a clue about what to do beyond stopgaps for the unhoused. Clearly tearing down the encampments solves nothing. Michael Nugent was "on state property" therefore the state can knock down his patch and put him in jail. He is "housed." Problem solved. Don't think so.
Great post! I hear what Ben is saying, but oftentimes seeing the situation with your own eyes is more impactful that just hearing about it. I'm hopeful that the Woonsocket City Council, the mayor, and Governor McKee treat this as a learning opportunity and use their positions of political influence to enact positive change for this vulnerable population.
