I have personally been witness to CRMC's inconsistent application of its own rules. I have also seen them completely ignore their regulations. They need unbiased leadership. They need a council that is qualified to rule on environmental matters. They need more compliance staff.
They need to go after polluters like the ones on the bay in Providence and collect the fines that have long been ignored by those companies. Rules are made for everyone regardless of their connections and their money. Change the structure, change the leadership and return to the mission of protecting our environment.
I have participated in this discussion on occasion and was reprimanded by CRMC for talking about how much we hate them as they were getting ready to approve a gas pipeline. Thereby proving my point that they were not proactively protecting the climate, they were locking in 30 years of emissions. But it was simply a wetland permit, no context allowed. Get rid of the evil institution.
