Support from the State. R.I. will be on life-support if Trump's Big, Beautiful Bill is passed. The Feds kick in money for our social plans and we pay the rest. Should the bill pass, our social programs will take a big hit. R.I. doesn't have the funds to cover any gap. We're over-budget, and R.I. is teetering on the edge of a recession. Smokers will have to decide if they want their weed or food.

This will hit everyone, not just low-income people. Cuts in SNAP and Medicaid are coming. People will spend their money on necessities; Cannabis is not a necessity. Every dime R.I. can scrape up will need to pay the bills. We're overextended. The R.I. government, like others, has failed. We received so much money from COVID, yet we put nothing away. Our budgets were based on "free" money. There is no more money, and there won't be more headed our way.

We're all going to pay the price of this corrupt Administration. This isn't an R.I. thing. It's nationwide.

Every dime of every tax will be needed to run the State. Special projects and programs will be put on hold in order for the State to survive.

I'm looking at the worst-case scenario. I hope that Trump and his group of grifters get tossed out of office. I hope that our country doesn't crash and burn. I can't believe our State leaders didn't see this coming on Nov. 5th. We heard nothing for the past 4 years but rage, revenge, and retribution. It came home to roost. Why weren't we prepared?

A question for the ages.
