Video from the International Day of Solidarity for the Palestine People in Providence
The rally is part of an international day of actions, walkouts, and boycotts.
On Wednesday, November 29 around 100 people gathered at the College Street Bridge [at the intersection of College Street and Memorial Boulevard] “to demand a permanent ceasefire, an end to the siege of Gaza, and an end to all aid to Israel.”
“Today is the fourth call to shut it down,” said Noor, a Palestinian-American woman and emcee for the protest, “which has been convened by the Palestinian Youth Movement, National Student Justice in Palestine, ANSWER Coalition, the People's Forum, International People's Assembly, Al-Awda, and the Palestinian American Community Center.”
November 29, 1947, is the day that Palestine was partitioned into two states, which led directly to the formation of Israel, said Noor.
